Key Legislation Since his election to the House of Representatives in 2008, Major Thibaut has authored and co-authored a number of bills of interest to residents of Pointe Coupee parish and parts of Iberville, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana parishes. Listed below is a summary of some of the legislation he has pushed through on behalf of his constituents:
Act 63 - enacted in 2011, to provide for administrative adjudication of certain violations in West Baton Rouge Parish.
Act 84 - enacted in 2011, to require condominium associations to carry a fidelity bond.
Act 95 - enacted in 2011, to provide for the taking of outlaw quadrupeds, nutria and beaver.
Act 370 - enacted in 2011, to provide for notice to insureds relative to liability insurance cancellation fees assessed by the office of motor vehicles.
Act 32 - enacted in 2010, to create a special licensed plate for active-duty military.
Act 581 - enacted in 2010, to provide for the establishment and maintenance of juvenile justice programs and services in Iberville, West Baton Rouge and Pointe Coupee parishes.
Act 273 - enacted in 2009, to provide for changes to the Louisiana Timeshare Act.
Act 472 - enacted in 2009, to provide that inclusion of a change in deductible shall not be deemed cancellation of a property insurance policy in certain circumstances.
Act 158 - enacted in 2009, to provide for the maintenance of juvenile fingerprints.
Act 209 - enacted in 2009, to repeal special provisions of law for court reporters in the 18th Judicial District.
Act 100 - enacted in 2009, to provide for the establishment and maintenance of juvenile justice programs and services.
